I cannot say enough positive things about David and Charlie! From our first phone call I immediately knew that they were the guys for the job. I loved that they are the owners and the ones that do all the work. They were very communicative and always arrived when they said they would. They spent several days setting up samples on the floor for me to see the different finishes and to make sure I was confident in my final choice. They went above and beyond and fixed a large chip in the floor from the previous owner, fixed a floor vent that was falling apart, and even took down a door and shaved off the bottom because it had been dragging on the floor and ruining it. Their attention to detail was so appreciated because I was there by myself all week trying to do other new house things like paint and clean. I never felt like I had to worry about what they were doing. The floors came out absolutely gorgeous and I love love love them! But I also love that I had such a great experience with David and Charlie! They feel like family at this point! These guys truly love what they do and it shows in how they talk about their work and in their final product.
Charlie and David are the best floor guys I know. They refinished all of the floors in the 1820’s colonial I restored. Months before they started they consulted me and recommended that I restore the old pine and old birch floors instead of replacing them. They also recommended to use the old attic floor boards in another section of the house instead of trying to match it with new pine. They were absolutely right because the floors came out amazing and new pine would have never had looked so good. They also went out of their way helping to square up all of the boards and lay them out too before sanding and coating. A couple years later I had them do my house in Hampton and same thing they refinished the old fir and it came out awesome. I highly recommend them and always refer friends and people I talk to who need floors done to Charlie and Dave.

I highly recommend Genuine Wood Floors and Dave and Charlie for their exceptional quality, knowledge, and attention to detail. They put in 100% effort, and their craftsmanship shows. Our Brazilian cherry floors had been refinished three years ago with a water-based finish that failed. Dave and Charlie sanded and applied a satin oil finish that is rich and lustrous and brought the floors back to their original beauty.
We had a top notch experience with Genuine for all the right reasons. Dave and Charlie’s breadth of knowledge for finish options was impressive and led us to an oil finish that is gorgeous visually, but also feels amazing when barefoot! We had no idea that the warmth they created in our space was possible! Their attention to detail was stellar, and the thoughtful care and respect for our home and space gave the Meidas touch. Their communication and follow through were excellent! We look forward to having them back when we’re ready to tackle other rooms or to provide maintenance for what they’ve already refinished.
These guys are always focused on detail and quality. They do some of the hardest work out there and get it done in a professional timely manner that delivers floors that last a life time. I have used them twice now in my 200+ year old home and their work is the highlight compared to all of the other renovations. Highly recommend
Dave and Charlie of Genuine Floors are true professionals. We have used them on 3 seperate occasions. They have done 2 pre finished floor installations and a full sand and refinishing. The first time I contacted them not only did they answer the phone, they stayed in constant communication through out the whole project. They showed up on the scheduled day and on time to look at the job. They made suggestions and gave ideas that I hadn't even thought of which not only made the finished product nicer but it also came in under my budget. Each project started on the date they were supposed to and they worked from beginning to the full completion of the jobs. They are true craftsmen and take pride in their work and stand behind it. From start to finish the demolition of our kitchen and surrounding area along with the preparation went smoothly and was extremely efficient. Their attention to detail and cleanliness before, during and after their work is unmatched. Dave and Charlie are knowledgeable, friendly, and always go above and beyond to ensure we are satisfied. Right away they knew our existing floor would need to be taken down to its original flooring to apply sub-flooring that would allow for the finished flooring to lay and look perfect. This is not our first project with them - they are always our first choice for our flooring renovations and upgrades. I’ve known Davie for over 20 years. We worked together at Gray Construction. I met Charlie shortly after. These two are animals! Genuine Wood Floors are the only guys I call. They refinished my yellow birch floors in Eliot in 2016. When I moved to Portsmouth March 10th 2020, I closed on the house in the morning and Davie and Charlie’s were there in the afternoon. The floors were so beat we thought they were red oak. To our surprise they were white oak. Like the house in Eliot, they came out beautiful! The name says it all. These boys are truly Genuine!
